It wasn’t exactly swimming weather, but it was still a great day to sit on the beach-feet in sand and sun overhead! Had a tasty seafood lunch afterwards and I always love to look at the vintage diving suit in the restaurant lobby. I can’t imagine being submerged in such heavy gear! I always like looking at the boats too. This time they were still dry docked awaiting summer fun.
Grand Central Oyster Bar
After all these years I finally went! What a great place. Since 1913! I sampled oysters from all over and learned I preferred the salty & briny to the sweet. It was a scorching hot day in NYC so what better way to enjoy ducking away from the heat than with fresh seafood and a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc with a friend? :)
Road trip and Dad's 80th celebration
Fun weekend in Plymouth! We all got together to ring in my father's big 8-0! And what could be more fun than a ferry over to P-town? lol!!! It was a cool day and rainy but we still managed to have a lot of fun. How can you not have fun with drag queens and art galleries and bars every ten steps? The captain of the ferry made a special announcement on the loudspeaker and so many people in town saw the shirts I made and hugged my dad. So sweet. We got some family photos on a very windy dock and all had our share of amazing seafood. I just adore my dad and it was nice to see him have such a good time.
foodie fun!
Been playing with food illustration on this cold day...
Crazy road trip!
I headed up to Plymouth Mass for a wedding this weekend. Left Saturday, returned Sunday. 10 hours of driving, 500 miles but what a blast! Got in early afternoon, so I headed over to Wood's Seafood "on the haaaaaaaaabah" as the locals say. Was going to order steamers, but went for the scallops and glad i did.
It was gray skies upon arrival but I love those skies in a harbor setting. Took some pics and got to learn way too much about lobster traps when i chatted some men up on the dock...
All in all, it was a great, albeit short, trip. Nothing prettier than New England in the fall. Took some shots from the car and did a lot oooing and ahhhhhing over all the bursts of color! And of course, a few urban scenes too.
