Watercolors, teaching, Stevie Wonder and a bit of Lovey...

Fall has busy. That's for sure. I've been lucky to be a part of Sharon Pitt's watercolor class. She is such a sweetheart and talent. It's an honor to study with her. As a result I have become a huge fan of watercolor. It is like a metaphor for life...patience, focus and letting things be. I always enjoy going there and spending hours just painting and chatting. No deadlines, no restrictions. Just fun.

One of my classmates lent me these great pepper pods to paint. I love my new Windsor & Newton paints. A far cry from the student grade i used for years!

Here is another one in progress...fall has the most beautiful colors. I just love leaves! Can't stop looking at them-especially this year...

I was struggling with a  somewhat monotone look here when Sharon suggested a pop of turquoise. love it!

Earlier this month, we celebrated my long running "Writing & Illustrating Picture Books" class at the Montclair Museum of Art. Was SO proud of all my students. Not everyone partook in exhibiting, but I toasted to them as well. So much talent. Got very few photos of the reception but here a few. :)

Todd and Maureen. Cutest couple ever. Seen here by Maureen's toast character.

My friend Karen surprised me with tickets to Stevie Wonder! What a fun night. Such a legend.

And finally, I did one last event for Lovey in October in Madison, NJ.  In last minute attempt to drum up more customers, I grabbed some chalk and created a sign for the sidewalk board. See? An author's job is never done. promote promote! GG Collins--soon to be author herself took this plc of me reading.
