My morning walks are absolutely beautiful lately. So much growth after all the rain. This has been an odd Spring with cold temps )woke up tp 36 degrees earlier this week!) and constantly changing weather. But the colors are off the charts! I take pics every 10 paces and then rush home to paint them! I’ve been mixing many watercolors into dish designs. So much fun!
One of the most beautiful treasures in Montclair is the Avis Campbell Gardens. I go there all year long and there is always something different blooming each season (except winter). It's tucked away and I love to see when people first stumble upon it. Absolutely gorgeous. I went Friday with my watercolor class and it was so nice to paint outside with nothing but chirping birds and the sound of the water fountain babbling away...Sure beats sitting in front of my computer!
My parents visited this past week so I spent a lot of time walking in the park with my dad each morning. From turtles, geese, cardinals, ducks and egrets to every assortment of dog I was in critter heaven. And then there was just the sheer beauty of spring unfolding everywhere.
Back in my watercolor class this winter. Very calming, which I need. We are focusing on interiors this semester. Here is something i created yesterday. I was annoyed that my masking fluid failed. I was trying to have signage in the background but it got messy. Apparently it stops working if you leave it in the harsh elements that are your car's trunk in summer and winter. lol
was playing around with old bits of my illustration and created this little piece. Just for fun. :)
I've been trying to paint more lately. Been spending way too much time creating on the computer and there is something about warmer weather that makes me want to return to painting in watercolor and gouache. Here's a page from this morning's sketchbook. I'd like to create more work for stationery and greeting cards.
