Was teaching a small group of kids this week (we made masks) and I just thought it was funny that the girls all chose wild animals, while the boys made faces with dollar signs. Full moon? maybe so…
Who doesn't love making one of these? I am sharing the work of some very imaginative kindergarteners. We had a lot of fun making these last week. There should be a few more but I think they are still drying. Never give a child too much paint. lol
Taught a few weeks of storytelling and comic book art at The Montclair Art Museum. The kids were so sweet even though I lost 80% of my hearing. lol So cool to see their creativity unfold. Lots of great ideas and stories and TONS of giggles. :) Sushi pic is from another instructor but thought it was such a great ceramics project!
I recently participated in Montclair Public Library's Little Read event-the 8th annual read-aloud marathon, bringing Montclair community leaders and citizens together in a celebration of literacy and community. Such a great event and it benefit the Children’s Department of the Montclair Public Library. (which I would be LOST without!) Here I am reading The Grumpy Pets at participating Montclair Art Museum. Great event!
Sharing some of my process in developing little Billy for The Grumpy Pets. He was a little too grumpy at first, so I had to create a version that wasn't too scary. Lots and lots of sketching! And color tests.
