Opening Reception Thurs night...

My work was part of a group exhibit in NYC entitled "the Enchanted Universe of Children's Book Illustrators". Six artist participated including Ann Marshall, Angelique Ellyn Anderson, Yan Gabriella Perorate, Lisa Falkenstern and Kiri Leanard. Very diverse array of styles and so fun to see everyone's work. I took some pictures of my work there before everyone arrived so I could get close. :)

Standing in front of my mini-wall in the galleries.

I was lucky to have three vitrines which showcased my two books. "Lovey Bunny" had all sorts of bits and pieces that went into the book such as sketches, dress mock-up and notes, as well as letters from school children with their favorite parts of the book. so cute!

"The Grumpy Pets" (Abrams April 5, 2016) also got its own window. It got a lot of attention and I enjoyed speaking to people about this book because it encourages adoption. I adore animals and there is a lot of heart in this.

See that teeny dress in the shadow box? I created that when I was trying to draw what Lovey would have made with her three-year-old hands. lol! A lot of reviewers missed it, but Lovey actually tried to recreate her mama's ruined black sequin dress out of lawn bags and tinfoil!
